Cape Town - Hoping to revive Cape Town’s battered local tourism sector, and as part of its birthday month celebrations, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) ramped up their #TheCablewayLovesLocal campaign to connect with locals through the launch of two new ventures at the iconic tourist destination.

TMACC revealed that it would be offering a “Fast Track” option where sightseers would be able to skip the well-known long queues waiting to board the cable car, as well as a new partnership with one of the city’s famous local brands, Vida e Caffè.

The company showcased their new Fast Track option to a selected group of local influencers and media to give them a taste of the fast experience, as well as the opening of the new Vida e Caffè at the lower kiosk down at the mountain.

TMACC Brand and Marketing executive manager Giselle Esau said: “This is to encourage locals so they can feel comfortable and further enjoy the gees at the mountain. Having local brands like Vida around, birthday specials, the Fast Track and our other offerings are all ways to connect the people with what’s going on at the top,” said Esau.

Fashion model and stylist Thapelo Mofokeng (@teepeemafoks) had an amazing experience with TMACC and Vida at the launch, and said he looked forward to hiking up Table Mountain with friends and family, taking the cable car back down and grabbing a coffee at Vida.

Health, life and fitness influencer Bilquees Baker (@missbilqeesb) said: “It’s an awesome experience to connect locals to the mountain. Lots of us who live in Cape Town think the mountain is just for tourists, but actually it's for us to enjoy and utilise.”

Other than officially launching the Fast Track option for the public today, TMACC also announced that it would be partnering with Groot Constantia Wine Farm during November for its #TheCablewayLovesLocal campaign, with a special offer including two return TMACC tickets, two chocolate and wine pairings, and a complimentary glass of Groot Constantia MCC for a reduced cost of R800.
