Ramaphosa confident budget vote will pass as opposition parties reject VAT hike

President Cyril Ramaphosa remains confident that Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana's revised budget will be approved on Wednesday, despite the DA's opposition to the proposed VAT increase from 15% to 16%. As the ANC seeks support from other opposition parties including the EFF, BuildOneSA, ActionSA, and MK Party, tensions within the Government of National Unity continue to mount over what is being described as the most controversial budget in recent years.
