Cape Town - The stage is set for international superstar band Atlantic Starr to wow Capetonians at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, tomorrow.

The group is made up of Wayne Lewis, Jonathan Lewis, Shammah Carter and Melessa Pierce, who are all the way from New York and ready to take the audience on a trip down memory lane with their timeless songs such as Secret lovers, Always, My first Love and many more.

Ahead of their performance, Wayne Lewis and Melessa Pierce yesterday said they are excited to be “home” and looked forward to meeting everyone.

Pierce is in South Africa for the first time, while Lewis said he was returning after more than 30 years.

“I am feeling very good and very excited about being back in South Africa. On Saturday fans can expect to hear all our hit records they have played throughout the years, as well as a few other songs from our CDs which we have added to the show as well,” says Lewis.

Pierce added: “I am extremely excited, this is my first time here which makes the show extra special and I wish I brought my whole family, that would have been great.

“We have travelled all over the world but this is a monumental place so I am excited to be here and we are going to give people a great show.”

The MC for the night is radio and social media sensation Peadon Smith, and to make the night extra special is Cape Town’s very own Luther Vandross, Fagrie Isaacs, with supporting acts the Elixir Band.

Lewis said: “We want to say thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for being such loyal fans over the years. South Africa has been a really big market and we thank you for the love. We’re looking forward to performing on Saturday. We want you to bring the whole family because our show is very family oriented and all messages of love and hope. The show is going to be very fun and theatrical.”

This is a show not to be missed and tickets are available from R495 on Ticketmaster.
