PARENTS who want kids to get off their phones should look in the mirror first.
Want to get your kids back into the real world? A new study suggests before you lecture them, you may want to think about what your own technology habits are telling the kids.
Parents are spending an average of 9 hours and 22 minutes with screen media a day, the study found – and only 1½ hours of that is for work.
That means parents use their cellular devices overall as much as their teens and tweens.
This was the discovery of Common Sense Media, a non-profit body devoted to studying the effects of media on children.
In the study, 1 700 parents were asked about their media habits, their children’s habits and how they viewed and managed technology as a family.
