Cape Town - In yet another bloody mass shooting in Khayelitsha, five people were shot and wounded on Tuesday night.
Numerous gunshots rang out at about 7.30pm at the corner of Cosa and Dika Street in Site B when suspects fired at a group of people.

A case of five counts of attempted murder has been opened for investigation.
The motive for the shooting incident remained unknown on Wednesday.
“According to reports, the victims were transferred to a nearby medical facility for treatment by private vehicles.
“The five victims sustained gunshot wounds and there were also two victims who were injured while running away for cover.
“The unknown suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested,” Van Wyk said.

Multiple shootings in Khayelitsha and Gugulethu have claimed 58 lives to date.
On September 15, Police Minister Bheki Cele said a total of 16 people were arrested for their alleged roles in the shootings.
This includes three suspects arrested in July this year for the murder of eight people shot and killed in Gugulethu during a traditional cleansing ceremony in June 2021.
He said extreme violence and brutality stalked the Western Cape and there were integrated operations to obstruct extortion rackets and related crimes.
