Durban – Police are searching for three men posing as police officers who allegedly robbed an MTN store in uMhlanga, north of Durban, over the weekend.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala said that at 8am on Sunday, the complainant alleged that she was performing her duties at business premises in Umhlanga Rocks and was informed by the company security guard that three police officers were looking for the manager.
“She went to meet the three people who posed as police officers and they told her that they are investigating a fraud case. Inside the shop the suspects withdrew firearms, instructed the victims to open the safe and took cellphones,” Gwala said.
“A case of robbery was opened at Durban North for investigation.”
