Durban — With Diwali days away, the South African Hindu Dharma Sabha has shared a message on the impending celebrations.
South African Hindu Dharma Sabha president Ram Maharaj said Diwali is the world’s greatest celebration of light, love and life. Light is life, while love sustains life.
“May the outer Diwali light ignite the inner light. God or the light of lights is enshrined within us all. Let this light of goodness shine forth,” Maharaj said.
“Be the light you want to see in others. See the light, be bright and do what is right. Be good, do good. Let the light of goodness shine always. Become a beacon of hope and happiness. Let us keep alive our ancestral legacy of sharing and caring, healing and helping, goodwill and generosity. Always stay in the light. Become enlightened, energised and empowered. Let this light of love touch every heart and home.”
Maharaj added that even if you are in a dark space now, rest assured that there is light at the end of the tunnel; and surely as day follows night, good times will follow bad times, and this difficult phase too shall pass. Know that the good forces of light will inevitably overcome the evil forces of darkness. God turns scars into stars.
“On behalf of the South African Hindu Dharma Sabha, I pray that our one loving Lord will light up the lives of all South Africans with peace, progress, prosperity, safety, stability, success, health, harmony and happiness,” Maharaj said.
