Inspired by Browns’ unforgettable performance in front of 98,000 fans, Nyovest hinted at bringing back his iconic “Fill-Up” series. Yes, the rapper who once made history by filling up FNB Stadium might just do it again.
Nyovest took to social media to share a video from Breezy’s concert where the American star’s DJ, DJ Fresh, paid homage to Mzansi’s hip-hop king.
In the clip, DJ Fresh spins Nyovest’s timeless hit, "Doc Shebeleza“, as the crowd went ape, rapping along word for word.
Overwhelmed by the love, Nyovest took to Instagram to write: “It’s not every day that Chris Brown’s tour DJ @iamdjfresh plays a record I dropped 10 years ago and 98,000 people rap word for word.
“South Africa, y’all have held me down and ke batla go le Leboga!!! Legendary!!! Got me feeling like maybe we should Fill Up FNB one more time!!! Y’all game ???”
Back in 2017, Nyovest accomplished what many thought was impossible by packing over 60,000 fans into the venue.
At the time, his career was at its peak with his album, “Thuto”, dominating the charts and solidifying his status as one of South Africa’s biggest hip-hop stars.
The FNB concert was part of his groundbreaking “Fill-Up” series, where he took on increasingly larger venues, proving his ambition and deep connection with fans.
Reflecting on his historic achievement during rehearsals, Nyovest opened up about the challenges he faced in securing funding for the event.
Speaking to “Slikour On Life”, he shared: “I had never actually seen the magnitude of the stadium ahead of focusing on the show. It’s so crazy how I function on blissful faith.”
The rapper’s faith paid off, as the concert became a landmark moment in South African music history.
