Media personality Moshe Ndiki’s culinary journey keeps expanding from launching his spices, to hosting cooking shows and now he is even dabbling in the world of restaurants.

This February, Ndiki partnered with the popular Johannesburg restaurant Tempo Luxury. The collaboration sees Ndiki bring a refreshing twist to their menu for Temptation Thursday.

Tempo Luxury’s Temptation Thursday offers a sophisticated evening, reminiscent of a date night for both ladies and gentlemen. Ndiki told IOL Lifestyle that it was a no-brainer for him to collaborate with the restaurant.

"It’s been quite some time since I've been in the kitchen and collaborating with Chef Bonga was a dream come true. Very passionate, professional, and welcoming in the kitchen because we all know how chefs are in their spaces. 

“He was very welcoming and willing to teach me, expanding my knowledge. I was like this is something that I would love to do and it was amazing."

Being inside a restaurant’s kitchen was quite the learning experience for Ndiki, helping him understand just how hard it is in the kitchen. He jokes that people always say he should open a restaurant but having seen the behind-the-scenes, Ndiki has gotten a huge eye-opener.

“Maybe it’s not the best time for me to open a restaurant, let me just do more research and be in the cooking space, before making that decision. It’s inspired me to put more effort and respect into it.”

The “Ready, Steady, Cook” presenter says the biggest lesson he has learned is being better at plating meals. “Cooking is another thing but you need to make it look great,” he added.

Last year Tempo Luxury restaurant partnered with Somizi Mhlongo and also Metro FM and they have more plans to partner with more celebrities across different ventures. 

“We aim to create a space for more creatives as we continue expanding within the hospitality industry,” shared the restaurant.

“The Temptation Thursday cooking collaboration is a perfect example of how we nurture celebrities in the culinary world. It offers them a platform to experience a professional kitchen environment, distinct from their homes, and allows their wider audience, to meet and engage with them in real life.”
