Renowned local actress, musician and businesswoman Simphiwe Simz Ngema is pregnant with her second child.

The former “Muvhango” star and her partner Tino Chinyani, who have a four-year-old son, Tiyani Kemorena Michael Chiyani, took to Instagram in a joint post on Friday, September 27, to post about their growing family.

With a caption that read: “Our little family just got bigger.❤️”, they shared a video of her growing belly. The trio are full of smiles as they don white, with Ngema wearing underwear with a light shirt as Tino and Tiyani caress her tummy.

Scores of people took to the comments section to congratulate the performer, who also releases music under the moniker, Quing Simz.

This included @buhlesamuels who wrote: “Another beautiful baby will soon be upon us! ❤️ So happy for you and your beautiful family! 🙏🏾😊.”

@angelasithole added: “Finally! 😍 what a beautiful reveal! You’re so blessed ♥️,” while @b.t_photography263 joked: “Make sure it's a girl, I've got plans for my son 😂.”

@ngemazinhle21 also posted: “Oh mama 😭😍😍😍 I love this for you!!! Congratulations.”

Meanwhile, others noted that Ngema deserved to be happy following the hardships she experienced over the past few years.

In 2021, she shared details about her almost fatal experience she had during her pregnancy.

She explained at the time that she almost lost her life due to complications while giving birth in July 2020, while also fearing that her son would also not survive.

After losing her husband, actor, musician and former football star Dumi Masilela, who died in a botched hijacking just months after they tied the knot in 2017, she never thought she could love again.

“The way things happened between Tino and me wasn't planned. I think God knew because things happened differently,” she explained to “TshisaLIVE”.

“This was supposed to be a fling and look at us now. God knew that after what I experienced, I'd be afraid to fall in love, I'd be afraid to open my heart again,”

“For us, it's about spreading love. Letting the public know there are healthy relationships, healthy families. Because we live in a society that is always toxic, we need love and to show black love even more,” she added.

Last June, the entertainer and her partner also released their song “Tiyani”, which they dedicated to their son.

"The beautiful thing is we're both artists, we're both creatives, so there's so much inspiration all around the house, and I think the song was just our love personified in an audio format," she told Metro FM.

Chinyani added: "For us, it was just so beautiful to have such love that's been brought into the home by Tiyani, and we wanted to give that back."

Meanwhile, Ngema also made headlines in 2023 when she admitted to visiting Thabo Bester while he was imprisoned at the Mangaung Correctional Centre in 2018.

In a since-deleted statement on social media, she said that she visited the convicted rapist and murderer to "demand answers" after they worked together and she did not receive her payment.
