John Legend has joked that his new album is the perfect soundtrack for making babies during the coronavirus pandemic.
The "All of Me" hitmaker is busy putting the finishing touches to his first record since 2016's "Darkness and Light" and his festive LP "A Legendary Christmas", and he has joked that his new collection of love songs could increase the chances of a baby boom during the coronavirus pandemic.
John - who has three-year-old daughter Luna and 22-month-old son Miles with wife Chrissy Teigen - also revealed he has a tricky task in getting the strings on the record recorded due to everyone being in self-isolation.
During a virtual chat for "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", he shared: "The new album is coming, we're mixing it, we're getting our strings finished.
"I'm not sure how we'll execute our string recording, I don't know how we'll distance our way into an orchestra recording.
"We'll figure that out, maybe we'll have to do a few players at a time and overdub it."
He added: "It's actually probably my sexiest album to date.
"If you're stuck at home and want to make some coronababies ... if you spend a lot of time with your partner and you need a soundtrack to that."
John kicked off the album with the lead single "Actions".
The ballad singer called on everyone to take "actions" as they "speak louder than love songs" on his first taste of the new release.
He sings: "Here I go again/ With another love song/ That I wasted.
"I wanna show my love is strong/ Make her feel it when I'm home/ No fakin'/ No mistakin'.
On the chorus, he belts out: "Actions speak louder than love songs."
The track samples "The Edge" by David McCallum, which Dr. Dre used on his 2000 hit "The Next Episode".
John has been performing on Instagram Live as part of Global Citizen Festival's "Solidarity Sessions: Together, At Home".
Announcing the new record last week, he said: "Just so you guys know, I am putting out a new album this year. "Everybody's home, you need stuff, you need music, you need TV, you need films.
"You need stuff to entertain you, so I'm going to put some music out.
"We're going to release some music.
"I don't know what the schedule going to be like, we're just going to start putting stuff out.
"We're in the process of mixing a lot of the stuff on the record. "Luckily, I already wrote and recorded most of it."
