Twitter users were left furious on April 29 after the virtual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) that was suppose to happen at 5pm, shifted to 8pm and then eventually started at 11pm.
Fans eagerly awaited the announcements of who would take home some of the most prestigious awards in categories like Best Feature Actor, Best Feature Actress and Best Feature Film and Most Popular Telenovela - but instead, they were met with an "video private" message on the live stream YouTube and Twitter channels.
They eventually resorted to entertaining themselves with witty comments and memes, have a look.

This is so unnecessary and embarassing... Just tag the Winner's and tweet these awards...we don't have to see anyone, ke boshigo
So by “soon” do you mean soon or now now or just now or before level four or sometime in 2020?

You should rather have delayed to another day and properly prepared, because that was terribly broadcast. Half the announcements were missed. Dineo was great, but really guys, you can do better than this...

Can someone help Dineo Ranaka and borrow her a mid-market Huawei, open an app & start a live stream, linked to YouTube,as she reads the @SAFTAS1 winners list? How do you mess up an online announcement? Did over-production cause the implosion? #LoveSATalent pic.twitter.com/BDbiXaOj8R
