Durban - Rock band Parable Fifteen will be performing at Musketeers at the German Club in Westville on February 12.
The four-man country-rock band will be performing hits You and Me and Firefly, which reached No3 and No5 on SA top 40, as well as their new single, Telling Your Heart which has been steadily climbing the charts.
The band’s vocalist, Marc Skarda, said the band was formed in 2011 and consists of Nic Leahy (guitar), Bryce Breeds (bass guitar) and Marius Botha (drums).
“Bryce and I are brothers and our dream growing up was to produce music together.
“In 2011 we started Parable Fifteen as an acoustic duo and Marius, who was both a fan and friend joined the band on drums.
“Marius and I knew Adam through the music industry and we believed he would be a great addition to the band. He joined this year,” said Skarda.
He said their music is inspired by real life experiences.
“Our songs are lyric driven and produced to have a combination of vibrant energy and a host of intriguing melodies, motivated by heartbreak, joy, life lessons with the hope to inspire others,” said Skarda.
Skarda described You and Me as a high quality shot of country rock and driving pop, the song is taken from the bands’ full length studio album.
The band signed a record deal with Just Music in 2020 and released You and Me as the first single with three more singles - Stories, Through the Storm and Bioluminescence, released that year.
“The song is about trials and tribulations in a relationship, it is about hope and the ability to forgive someone you love and move forward together,” said Skarda.
He said regardless of Covid, this year he sees a glimpse of hope that the entertainment and music industry will finally get back to some sort of normalcy.
“We are on a new tour called Welcome to the New which has performed locally and is scheduled to travel around the country this year,” he said.
He said the new tour is sponsored by Harley-Davidson and they have a few upcoming dates this year.
Special guests are husband and wife team, Jane and Paul Candow who have been professional performers since 1984.
Also performing is Durban singer songwriter, Zazz, whose work is inspired by contemporary country.
“To me singing is therapy, it makes life pause for a moment and gives me time to breathe and focus on love of music, the love of singing and performing,” she said.
The concert starts at 6pm and the tickets R80.
