Along the Cape South Coast, near the small town Vermaaklikheid, lies the Joubert Family farm – a picturesque piece of land with a rich history – proudly built on heritage, hard work and a true passion for farming.
The farm Dassieklip is home to the Baleia vineyards – and was specifically selected for the vineyards because of its limestone rich soil and close proximity to the ocean. Baleia produces the finest wine and olive oil.
A delicate sea breeze regularly sweeps over the vineyards, cooling it down to an ideal temperature for growing the perfect grapes to produce truly great wines. The vines are respectfully grown; each vine delicately handled by caring female hands. This ensures that each bottle of Baleia wine is testimony to our passion for a superbly crafted wine.
Baleia Wines premium flagship wine, the 2014 Inge Chardonnay symbolises the Joubert families close family ties and values as the wine is named after owners Jan-Hendrik and Lindi Jouberts’ daughter, Inge.
The limestone rich soil, mountain water and delicate see breeze adds to minerality and fills the wine with a mouth-watering citrus fruit, dried peach taste; complimented with butterscotch and toffee aromas and lingering aftertaste of lemon and oak.
