Maybe he is trying to save on electricity or trying a new dish, but TikToker Clifford Mosoma has certainly got South Africans talking about his cooking methods after he filmed himself cooking rice and macaroni in one pot recently.
The tiktoker took to the video app a few days ago to share how he cooks rice and macaroni together, in one pot.
Now you might be wondering why people would have something to say about someone cooking rice or macaroni.
Well, it’s the fact that he cooks the two ingredients in one pot that has people outraged, but more so it’s because he went as far as saying that it’s the way South Africans do it.
In the caption overlaying a video of macaroni and rice boiling in a pot of water, he writes: “How we cook rice and macaroni in South Africa.”
South Africans immediately disassociated themselves from this method of cooking.
The video, viewed over 450,000 times, has received 11,000 likes and had over 5,000 people have rushed to the comment section, mostly expressing their disdain.

“Who is we?” commented one person while another said: “As South Africa we’d love to say he’s alone in this.”
He actually had the nerve to respond to one person who wrote: “who’s ‘we’ wenna Clifford?” that it’s all of us who do it.
“Don’t say south africa my brother say ‘how we cook rice and macaroni in MY HOUSE,” commented another person.
Making reference to the two-pot retirement system one other person said: “we currently using two pot system in Mzansi.”
Another tried to actually make sense of it all and explained to him that his unusual cooking technique won’t work.
“Rice cooks longer… by the time the rice is soft, that macaroni will be overcooked and mashed.”
