To quench the thirst this summer, treat yourself with delicious homemade juices that will improve your skin’s health.
For luminous glowing skin, you need at least three juices namely the red, green and orange juices.
The red juice
Consisting of beetroot and pomegranate as the main ingredients, this juice has dual benefits, including promoting hair growth and beautiful skin. The pomegranate seeds help nourish the skin and hair while maintaining a youthful appearance.
Ingredients
- 1 big beetroot (peeled)
- 1 red apple
- Quarter cup of pomegranate seeds
- 2 stalks of celery
Method
Wash the ingredients and put them in a juicer to squeeze all the juice and transfer into a container. If you don’t have a juicer, blend all the ingredients and then pass the juice through a strainer and enjoy.
The green juice
Similar to the red juice, the green juice is also beneficial to the skin and hair. It promotes hair growth, prevents itchy scalp and boosts the skin’s health by giving it that natural glow.
Ingredients
- 2-3 stalks of roughly chopped celery
- 1 medium-sized peeled cucumber (don’t forget to cut it into big chunks)
- 1 cup spinach leaves
- 3-4 kale leaves
- 1 green peeled apple (cut into big chunks)
- 1tbs lemon juice
Method
Put the ingredients into the juicer. If you have a small juice, you can put them in one at a time and mix the juices after squeezing them.
For those using a blender, blend everything together and then pass the juice through the strainer. If the ingredients are too thick to blend, add a bit of water for consistency.
The orange juice
This one is the best because it is sweet. Made of carrots and oranges, this juice is packed with carotene and vitamins, which are great for immunity and skin.
It also contains other key ingredients like turmeric and ginger, which help slow down the ageing process and keep your skin youthful and supple.
Ingredients
- 1 large orange (peeled)
- 3 carrots (peeled and chopped into smaller pieces)
- Half-inch ginger piece (peeled)
- Half-inch fresh turmeric piece or 1 tsp turmeric powder
Method
Squeeze the ingredients through the juicer and if you have a blender, blend them and then pass the juice through the strainer.
To avoid staining your teeth, always drink this juice with a straw.
For optimum results, drink one of the juices every morning on an empty stomach.
