An Australian was jailed for three months by an Amsterdam court for leaping from a third-floor hotel window onto a fellow tourist who happened to be walking below, news reports said Friday.
The Brazilian tourist has spinal injuries that will keep him in a wheelchair for life, the Sun Herald reported.
The Australian national, referred to in court as 29-year-old Abdallah O, was apparently uninjured because the victim broke his fall in the July incident.
His lawyer told the court he leaped from the window after smoking cannabis, which may be legally bought and smoked in the Dutch city's coffee shops by those over 18. – Sapa-DPA
