Paris - French police on Monday arrested a man in his 50s suspected of several bomb threats in Paris, including one at a central railway station, a police official said.
The man was detained at his apartment in the town of Meudon, south-west of the capital, on suspicions of links to a phoned-in threat at the Saint-Lazare train station.
Other details were not immediately available.
French authorities have recorded nine bomb alerts in the capital last month, including at the Eiffel Tower - a threefold increase from a year earlier. No explosives were found.

Under French law, a fake bomb threat can lead to a conviction of up to two years in prison and a AUS$30,000 fine. - AP
