A landslide at a South Korean mountain resort has left at least 10 people dead.

Torrential rain has battered the town of Chuncheon, east of Seoul, destroying four buildings, including two small hotels during the middle of the night.

The wild weather has greatly hampered rescue efforts. With many buildings reduced to rubble, the search for missing people is continuing.

Over the last 24 hours, 400mm of rain has fell on the capital, causing flash floods, further landslides and road closures and other transport delays.
