A young mother who was reported missing on Valentine’s Day has been found dead beneath floorboards at her home.
The body was discovered after police investigating the disappearance of Nicole Cartmell, 18, visited her terraced house in Handsworth, Birmingham.
Cartmell’s boyfriend, named by neighbours as 20-year-old Stephen Devesey, was said to be one of two men arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery on Wednesday. The couple had lived in the two-bedroom house for three months.
Cartmell gave birth to a boy in January just weeks before she disappeared.
Her parents, Julie and Gary Cartmell, are thought to be looking after their grandchild.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jones said: “We are at the very early stages of this investigation.”
Cartmell’s body was expected to be formally identified last night. - Daily Mail
