The husband of a model has been arrested over allegations he raped a woman during London Fashion Week.
Shawn Mount, 30, who is married to Chanel model Heidi Mount, 23, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a five-star London hotel.
The top New York hairstylist is alleged to have carried out the attack after he and his 24-year-old accuser, who cannot be named for legal reasons, attended a party together.
Mount’s wife was on an assignment in Milan when the alleged incident happened. As her husband faced police questions, the blonde model tweeted: “Just had the best goat cheese salad of my life here in Milan - off to a good week!”
Mount, who strenuously denies the attack, was arrested and had to provide a DNA sample, pose for a police mugshot and be fingerprinted. Pending further inquiries, he was bailed to November 10.
Scenes-of-crime experts and detectives spent days examining the room where the attack allegedly happened. It is believed linen and other items were taken away for analysis.
The alleged victim has been interviewed by specialist sex crimes detectives. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We received a complaint of a serious sexual assault at 1.30am on September 20.
“A 30-year-old man was arrested on September 21 on suspicion of rape and bailed to return to a London police station in November. He has not been charged.”
The alleged rape happened at the five-star Sanderson Hotel, where rates start at £300 a night and go as high as £2 700 for the penthouse suite.
