Newport Beach, California - Authorities say three people were killed in a pileup involving 10 vehicles on California's famed Pacific Coast Highway.
Newport Beach Fire Department Deputy Chief Ralph Restadius told the Orange County Register that three other people were hospitalized in the Saturday afternoon crash in Orange County, one of them in critical condition.
Two cars were overturned and some people were trapped inside their vehicles.
Authorities say the highway remained closed hours after the accident and was likely to be shut down through the night.
