Thanks to Top Gear Russia having snuck these official images onto the worldwide web, we now get to see how the sedan version of the all-new Mazda3 will look before it's officially announced.
With its muscular creases and sloping roofline, the four-door 3 looks every bit like the shrunken Mazda6 that the world expected.
Besides the different dimensions, we can't see it straying far from the technical recipe of the recently revealed 3 hatch, which is 30 percent stiffer and 90kg lighter than its predecessor.
It also comes with Mazda's latest Skyactiv engines including 74kW 1.5-litre, 116kW 2-litre and 137kW 2.5-litre normally aspirated petrol units and the 110kW/379Nm 2.2-litre turbodiesel.
A glut of modern gadgets are on offer, including an all-new infotainment system accessed through a 'pop-up' screen, Radar Cruise Control and Smart City Brake support.
Mazda South Africa says the new Mazda3 hatchback is destined for South Africa, but no on-sale dates have been divulged as yet.
