The new Mazda3 has been given some extra visual clout with the release of the new Kuroi sports pack.
Despite the Japanese name - Kuroi means black - the kit is only available in Australia at this stage, although a global roll-out has not been ruled out.
External pimping comes in the form of 18-inch black alloy wheels as well as 'brilliant black' front under-spoiler, side skirts, rear under-spoiler and door mirrors.
There's nothing new under the bonnet, but the kit can be paired with either of the existing engine derivatives, which include a 116kW 2-litre and 137kW 2.5-litre - both featuring Mazda's 'Skyactiv' technology.
The new Mazda3 hatchback and sedan are likely to reach South Africa before the year is out, although we'd imagine that its introduction depends on how quickly and smoothly Mazda's transition into a separate local entity goes.
Of course, the new Mazda6 is also on our wish list.
