You'd normally associate the word 'stealth' with going undetected, yet quite ironically Nissan South Africa is now using it on a vehicle that was designed to get you noticed.
Dark grey 'techno' paint sets the dark tone for the NP200 Stealth edition along with a glut of darkened accessories, which include a sports bar, nudge bar and charcoal black alloy wheels with red accents in the hubs.
The edition is also garnished with 'Stealth' decals, daytime running lights, tinted windows and a tonneau cover, while the grille surround is now colour-coded.
Nissan SA hasn't released any pictures of the interior but it does sound fairly snazzy for a workhorse with its 'eco leather' seat trim with titanium-coloured contrasting stitching as well as Stealth-embroidered logos on the seats and carpets.
As for creature comforts, Nissan has thrown in an Alpine audio system with USB socket and Bluetooth connectivity, along with air conditioning and remote central locking. Safety comes in the form of dual front airbags and ABS brakes.
Power comes from Nissan's 64kW/128Nm 1.6-litre petrol engine and using the base motor has allowed Nissan to keep the price down to R168 000. This includes a six-year/150 000km warranty.
