Nissan performance division Nismo and Williams Advanced Engineering have agreed to collaborate on the development of high-performance road cars.
In particular, the Williams engineers will use their specialist expertise in aerodynamics, computer modelling and material science to bring racing technology to Nismo-badged cars.
Nismo boss Shoichi Miyatani said: "Nismo is based on more than 30 years of racing experience, so we're keen to work with a like-minded company such as Williams to develop higher-performance Nismo models, especially during such a period of intensive product development for Nismo."
A NEW NISMO MODEL EVERY YEAR
With Nismo now installed in a new headquarters in Yokahama, officially opened in February this year, Nissan has promised at least one new Nismo model every year from 2014, starting with the GT-R Nismo, which will be the third Nismo-badged model following the launch of the Juke Nismo and 370Z Nismo this year.
Sir Frank Williams added: "Williams and Nismo share a passion for racing and cutting-edge technology. This collaboration will see us developing cars at the forefront of automotive technology."
