A woman was run over by a car and then fatally shot on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast on Tuesday morning.
IPSS Medical Rescue said they responded to a shooting incident on the R102 near Etete, which is between the Stanger and Ballito area.
IPSS spokesperson Samantha Meyrick said initial reports were that a woman was struck by a motorist, who after crashing into another car, returned to shoot the woman before fleeing on foot.
“Sadly, the woman has been declared deceased by paramedics.”
Meyrick said the South African Police Services (SAPS) were on scene and the motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.
She said traffic on the R102 will be affected as this is now a crime scene.
“Our condolences go out to the friends and family of the deceased.”
The SAPS have been approached for comment and will be added once received.
