Rustenburg, North West - The Lonmin miner arrested for possession of platinum has been granted R800 bail, North West police said on Monday.
Benjamin Thetsekine, 37, appeared briefly in the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Monday for contravening the Precious Stones Act, Captain Amanda Funani said.
Thetsekine was arrested on Saturday in Marikana after being found with platinum powder worth R800 000.
He would be back in court on February 4. - Sapa
