Sumthyn Music has done it again and this time around the label is releasing an album that will keep Mzansi dancing and begging for more.
The music stable, known for producing hits, will see Uncle B's Album released on October 11, 2024.
The album consists of eight songs, including the hit single Zwau difha and Magaraba featuring Mrofha.
Uncle B, who is also a producer and a songwriter, is currently on a radio tour promoting the hit single Zwau difha.
The single is doing great as it is enjoying maximum spin on various radio stations.
Uncle B’s innovative sounds infuse Afro-tech, Amapiano, disco and Afro-beats into a single genre. There is also a song that will keep his fans dancing titled Tsakane, the song is inspired by legendary disco musician Paul Ndlovu.
Last year Uncle B's song Nwa-marhungani - inspired by Peter Teanet - landed him a nomination at the South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA).
Sumthyn Music said:”This year we are hoping for continued success with his current project. Other songs on the album are Magaraba, Hi Tirhile, U lava yini and many more.”
Uncle B aka Nhlanhla Suprise Rikhotso was born and bred at Siyandani Village in Giyani, Limpopo.
His first love was poetry, but he always knew he would be an icon in the music industry and had a dream of writing his own anthology.
Being raised by a single parent who was unemployed, he says it was hard for him to get into music immediately.
“I took a different route, allowing poetry to guide my path. There was a competition in my church and poetry became my instant refuge as it opened doors for me. Since then I never looked back, to date,”he said.
In 2018 he released an afro-pop album, followed by singles which did well.
Asked about his new album, he said: “I'm over the moon. I think I have perfected my sound now and I feel happy that people are connecting with it. It is not easy to experiment new sounds and be successful as an artist but I thank my management and production team for the hard work and inspiration because receiving a SATMA nomination was a confirmation that I'm doing something good.”
