I've just returned from a three-week vacation to the Cape and the winelands. As always, I love to record and photograph my travels, and the Western Cape never disappoints.
A visit to the recently restored Lanzerac Estate was indeed a delight on so many levels. The Cape Dutch white gabled manor house is the essence of a bygone era and still continues to captivate visitors' fascination. Pictures: Dr Norman Cahi. A delicious cheese board, paired with award-winning curated wines, is a must in the winelands.The quintessential beauty of vine-covered farm homesteads. Just beautiful.Stellenbosch offers a mesmerising warp of time and tide, the transient and the finite, the now and the then.The historic town centre is still famous for its heritage architecture. These national heritage monuments and buildings date back to 1904.The inviting and enticing entrance to most of the wine estates heightens the experience of dining and wining while overlooking spectacular views.The Cape locals certainly know how to welcome guests with the most beautiful floral arrangements, antique furniture, expensive art, silver service, and delicious food.I love enjoying life with the love of my life. We strolled around this student town and took in every moment to treasure in our memory bank.The spectacular art in a lot of the estates are In itself reason to visit and marvel at . This is at Overture Wine Estate.The views over water and the Simonsig mountain range beyond are simply sensational.
