Former cricket bosses Ali Bacher and Norman Arendse will appear before the committee probing Cricket SA (CSA) and its bonus scandal, the sports ministry said on Wednesday.
Bacher, the former managing director of the previous United Cricket Board of SA, and Arendse, a former CSA president, will appear before the committee, which continues its hearings in Pretoria on Monday.
The sports ministry said CSA finance committee chairman John Bester would also appear.
A number of administrators and officials appeared before the committee, chaired by Judge Chris Nicholson, during two weeks last year, ending with CSA CEO Gerald Majola’s testimony on December 9.
Majola claimed when he appeared before the inquiry that Bacher had taken a R5 million bonus after the 2003 Cricket World Cup, hosted by South Africa.
Bester was a member of the Khan commission which ultimately cleared Majola with a warning after an internal CSA inquiry last year.
The Nicholson inquiry was announced by Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula after auditing firm KPMG recommended that CSA's remuneration and travel allowance policy be reviewed.
A KPMG audit found that bonus payments had been kept secret from the federation’s remuneration committee, and that Majola had breached the Companies Act on at least four occasions. – Sapa
