The Cape Cobras strangled the Titans with a spirited all-round display as they wrapped up an eight-wicket win over the Titans in the Standard Bank Pro20 Series semifinal, first leg, at Newlands, on Sunday afternoon. The Titans, who won the toss and chose to bat, were reduced to 141/6 in their 20 overs on a slow-paced Newlands wicket. The Cobras' chase, never in trouble at any stage, reached the victory target in the 15th over when their score stood at 142/2. The Cobras' reply was prolific at the start as Richard Levi and Herschelle Gibbs batted with enterprise to stay well up with the required run-rate against the wayward new-ball pairing of Albie Morkel and Andre Nel.

The Levi-Gibbs stand brought up the 50 in the sixth over and in the ensuing overs the Titans' attack took more punishment as the run-rate moved just beyond the 11-run-an-over mark.
