The Cobras beat the Knights by 13 runs (Duckworth Lewis method) in a rain-interrupted Standard Bank Pro20 match played at the Outsurance Oval in Bloemfontein on Sunday.

The match started 90 minutes late because of the wet outfield and when play finally got underway, the Cobras faced just five overs before the covers came on again.

When play resumed, the match was reduced to 10 overs per side.

Sent in to bat, Cobras batsman Richard Levi knocked 51 runs off 30 balls, including six fours and a six.

He won the Master Blaster batsman award and remained unbeaten at the end of the Cobras' allotted overs.

Herschelle Gibbs put on 33 before he was run out by Reeza Hendricks and helped his side reach a formidable 91 in the circumstances.

It was a tough ask for the Knights to chase 95 after the target was revised according to the Duckworth Lewis method.

The hosts lost quick wickets and only Rilee Rossouw made a meaningful contribution with his 33.

Charl Langeveldt bowled well taking a wicket in each of his two overs and finished off with 2/10 and the Master Blaster bowling award.

Johann Louw (1/13) bowled a tight over at the end to ensure the Knights only scored five instead of the required 21 runs off the last over.

The Cobras have won two out of their three matches to date while the Knights have lost two out of two. – Sapa
