Cricket SA (CSA) will reveal the seventh team on Monday to compete in this season's domestic T20 Challenge – two days before the start of the competition.

“CSA will unveil the name and composition of the seventh team that will compete at franchise level for the first time,” the national cricket body said on Thursday.

The full list of nationally contracted players for the 2012/13 season, according to CSA, would also be revealed.

The launch of the T20 Challenge was indefinitely postponed earlier this week, when the seventh side was expected to be named.

The competition is expected to start next week Wednesday, and while the fixtures have been finalised, the seventh slot has not yet been filled.

The unnamed seventh team will join the six SA franchises for the sponsorless competition.

With the national cricket body, and CEO Gerald Majola in particular, involved in an ongoing bonus saga, CSA was unable to secure sponsors for two domestic competitions this season – the T20 Challenge and the One-day Championship.

The SuperSport Series, which concludes this week, was the only competition funded by an independent source. – Sapa
