The Dolphins had to settle for a share of the points for the second straight match as their One-day Cup game against the Warriors ended without a result in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.

The Dolphins, needing 291 runs to win, were 21/1 after seven overs when the rain came down and the players left the field.

After assessing the conditions later in the afternoon, the umpires called off the match.

The Warriors had reached 290/8 in their allotted 50 overs, with all of their top-order batsmen making valuable contributions.

Nicky Boje and JJ Smuts shared 103 runs for the first wicket to lay the foundation of a solid innings.

While Boje, who made 50, and Smuts, who hit 48, fell only two balls apart, Adrian Jacobs (52) and Johan Botha (50) both made half-centuries to build on the momentum.

Spinner Keshav Maharaj led the home side's attack, returning 3/66, while Dolphins skipper and part-time slow bowler Imraan Khan took 2/40. – Sapa
