East London – The Warriors cruised to an emphatic nine-wicket win over the Dolphins in their Ram Slam T20 Challenge match at Buffalo Park on Saturday.

Set a target of 137 runs to win, Ashwell Prince made a brilliant 70 not out, and stand-in skipper Colin Ingram was unbeaten on 26 as they guided the home team to victory with 15 balls to spare.

Prince hit four boundaries and two sixes as the Warriors bagged their second triumph in this season’s domestic T20 competition.

Opener Christiaan Jonker had also made a significant contribution early in the innings with 34 runs off 28 balls before Prenelan Subrayen had him caught by Khayelihle Zondo in the 10th over.

Earlier, the Dolphins were anchored by Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Englishman Ravi Bopara as they reached 136 for four off their 20 overs.

Van Jaarsveld played a typical attacking innings, racing to 58 not out off only 41 deliveries, while Bopara scored an elegant 42

off 44, as the pair shared an unbroken 98-run stand for the fifth wicket.

Andrew Birch, with two for 21, was the pick of the Warriors' bowling attack. – Sapa
