Reeza Hendricks and Dean Elgar shared 106 runs for the first wicket after the Knights won the toss and chose to bat.

Hendricks was removed for 61 in the 30th over by seam bowler Keegan Eccles.

Rilee Rossouw, who contributed 21, was caught 11 overs later by Devin Conway off the bowling of Dolphins captain Imraan Khan.

Elgar, who played a controlled innings, facing 144 balls for his 74 runs, was eventually removed by Brady Arendse who had him caught by David Miller.

The visitors held firm, however, with Ryan Bailey (46 not out) and Obus Pienaar (31) combining in an unbeaten 63-run stand before stumps were drawn 30 overs early. – Sapa
