Johannesburg – Wayne Parnell dominated a remarkable eighth wicket partnership of 18 runs in 1.5 overs with Rory Kleinveldt to lead South Africa A to a three-wicket victory over Zimbabwe A at Harare Sports Club on Saturday in the final of the triangular limited overs tournament.

Kleinveldt, in fact, only faced one ball while Parnell hit four boundaries, a single and also profited from a wide delivery.

The victory was a conclusive one with 19 balls to spare to make it five wins out of five for South Africa A.

The South African total was set up by Colin Ingram (61 off 96 balls, 6 fours and a six) which made him the leading runs scorer in the tournament.

Two other players who have made their mark in this tournament are opening bowler Chris Morris who took 2/35 and left arm spinner Aaron Phangiso who took 2/23, also in 10 overs.

Zimbabwe, who were sent into bat, made 199/9 in their 50 overs with Regis Chakabva (51 off 62 balls, 4 fours) being the main contributor. – Sapa
