Mthokozisi Shezi, with figures of 5 for 26 in the second innings, lifted the Dolphins to a 227 run victory over the Warriors in Durban on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 386 set by the home team, the Warriors resumed their innings in the morning in trouble at 30 for three.
Shezi with the help of Kyle Abbott soon had the Warriors reduced to 49 for five in the morning, which brought Arno Jacobs and Craig Thyssen to the wicket.
The pair combined for a partnership of 85, to give the visitors hope of salvaging a draw before Proteas leg-spinner Imraan Tahir struck for the Dolphins.
Tahir had Jacobs trapped in front for 50.
Shezi then removed Thyssen (51) 10 balls later and the tail put up little resistance before falling to 158 all out.
Man of the match Vaughn van Jaarsveld earlier in the match, laid the platform for the victory with a score of 106 and helped the Dolphins to a first innings of 321.
At the Wanderers, the Lions and the Knights, played out to a draw.
Both teams were frustrated by bad Highveld weather with rain and thunderstorms bringing an early end to the match.
Set a victory target of 323 by the Knights, the Lions reached 83 for five before the weather intervened leaving Neil McKenzie on 27* and Thami Tsolekile 1* at the crease.
The Knights began the day looking to increase their overnight lead of 208 with Reeza Hendricks and Boeta Dippenaar at the wicket.
Wickets fell regularly, but courtesy of a quick-fire 41 from 49
balls from Ryan McClaren the visitors were able to get the lead over 300.
With the lead over 320, the Knights declared leaving most of the day to bowl out the home side.
Before the elements played their part, the Lions found themselves in trouble in their second innings with both openers gone with the score on 18.
The Lions were left reeling on 81 for five with Jonathan Vandiar, Zander de Bruyn and Themba Bavuma all departing before the players went off for bad light.
Play was later called off amid darkening skies.
Top scorer of the match, Zander de Bruyn with 92 in the Lions first innnings was the closest batsman to a century on the bowler-friendly wicket. – Sapa
