In the SuperSport-series cricket match between the Knights and Cape Cobras on Wednesday, no play was possible for the second successive day in Bloemfontein due to a wet outfield and pitch.

More than 200mm of rain fell at the ground since Sunday.

Further showers during the night prevented the teams from taking the field after it looked promising that they will get to play today.

This is a crucial encounter for both teams. The Cape Cobras are the defending champions of the SuperSport-series and are currently in the second position on the log with 53.82 points.

The Titans are the leaders at the moment with 69.84 log points.

If the Cobras don't win the match against the Knights and the Titans manage to defeat the Lions at SuperSport Park in Centurion, the Titans will be in the pound seats to bag the title.

The Knights are on 39.64 points in the fourth position and need a victory to keep their chances of bagging the SuperSport-title alive. – Sapa
