The Dolphins announced Hashim Amla and Lonwabo Tsotsobe as their Cricket SA (CSA) contracted players for the 2012/2013 season, but Proteas' spinner Imraan Tahir was a notable absentee.
The 33-year-old Tahir has played seven Tests and five One Day Internationals for South Africa.
The Dolphins confirmed Amla as a CSA contracted player on Monday, after Tsotsobe signed a one-year deal on Friday.
The contract is in line with a CSA policy that allows nationally contracted players to nominate a team of their choice for the forthcoming season.
