Johannesburg - The Titans lifted themselves up the T20 Challenge standings, keeping themselves in a tight race for the playoffs with a six-wicket victory over a struggling Impi outfit in Centurion on Wednesday evening.
Chasing 127 runs to win, the Titans coasted to their target with five overs to spare, as the visitors remained the only team without a win after 10 games in the competition.
Titans opener Henry Davids laid the foundation for a rock-solid top order effort.
Captain Martin van Jaarsveld contributed an unbeaten 35 off 13 deliveries, and smashed 19 runs from the last five balls off former England international Paul Collingwood, to carry them home.
Collingwood, the Impi skipper, spearheaded their attack, returning 2/35, but the home side were never really troubled.
Earlier, the visitors reached 126/6 after winning the toss and opting to bat.
Dutch batsman Ryan ten Doeschate, who made 39, led the way as the Impi top order held their own, but their middle order were well restricted as they struggled to put up a defendable total.
Spin bowler Roelof van der Merwe, who removed Ten Doeschate and Justin Kreusch in the same over, Alfonso Thomas and Albie Morkel bagged two scalps each to restrict the visiting side. - Sapa
