The Titans were crowned 2011-2012 SuperSport Series champions on Sunday morning after it was confirmed that their closest rivals, the Cape Cobras, could not close the gap.

The Cobras, leading by less than a point before the final round of matches, resumed their first innings against the Lions on 342/6.

They had the impossible task of scoring another 208 runs off 25 overs to accumulate the minimum number of batting points they required.

Despite an innings of 167 from Yaseen Vallie, it took just over an hour for the title holders to be confirmed, as the Cobras were all out for 420. – Sapa
