Pretoria - A heroic sixth-wicket partnership of 119 between David Wiese and Farhaan Behardien took the Titans to a morale-boosting victory by four wickets in their One-day Cup match in Centurion on Wednesday.

The Warriors came into the match seeking a bonus-point victory to secure a home semi-final, while the Titans were out of contention for the playoffs.

The visitors won the toss and batted first, posting a challenging total of 294/6.

Opener Jon Jon Smuts laid the basis for a big total with a score of 80 off 113 balls - his 12th half-century in this format.

He and Arno Jacobs shared an opening stand of 63 before Jacobs was caught by Rowan Richards off CJ de Villiers for 24.

Ashwell Prince made his 23rd half-century, and shared in a 50-run partnership with Justin Kreusch, who blazed his way to 61

off 52 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes.

Richards was the most successful of the Titans' bowlers, taking 2/73, while Faf Du Plessis was the most economical, taking 1/21 off five overs.

Needing to score at a run a ball to win, the Titans got off to a poor start when Johan Botha took a brilliant diving catch on the boundary to dismiss Henry Davids off the bowling of Makhaya Ntini for 12, with the score on 16.

Ntini then claimed the wicket of Mangaliso Mosehle, caught by Craig Thyssen for 11, to bring Du Plessis to the crease.

He and Kuhn set about their task with a will, racing to their 50-run partnership off 47 balls, and the hundred partnership off 90.

Kuhn reached his 10th fifty first, facing 51 deliveries and hitting five boundaries, while Du Plessis' 21st half-century came off 49 balls.

Just as the Titans appeared to be heading for victory, they suffered something of a collapse.

Kuhn was caught and bowled by Botha for 57 and Nicky Boje trapped Martin van Jaarsveld for a duck.

Du Plessis and Farhaan Behardien added 36 for the fifth wicket before the former was stumped by Jacobs off Boje for 70, including five boundaries and a six.

Behardien and Wiese then joined forces, reaching their 50-run stand at a run a ball, and their century partnership off 85 deliveries.

Wiese raced to his ninth half-century off just 40 balls, bringing the Titans right back into the match.

When he was bowled by Ntini for 82, only six runs were needed for victory.

There was just enough time for Behardien to make his 12th half-century before Roelof van der Merwe hit a four to secure victory with eight balls remaining. - Sapa
