Openers Ashwell Prince and JJ Smuts shared an unbroken century stand as the Warriors picked up their second win of the T20 Challenge in Durban on Friday evening.

The visitors restricted the Dolphins to 100/8 after the hosts won the toss and chose to bat, and the Warriors' opening pair charged to a 102-run partnership as they coasted to a comfortable 10-wicket victory with 33 balls to spare.

Prince, spilled by David Miller on 33, hit an unbeaten 52 off 48 balls, including three successive fours off Kyle Abbott to bring up the winning runs.

It was the veteran left-hander's sixth career T20 half-century, and he brought up his 1 000th run in the short format along the way.

Smuts contributed 43 not out from 39 deliveries.

Earlier, former Proteas fast bowler Makhaya Ntini led the Warriors attack, ripping through the Dolphins top order.

The veteran speedster took 3/12 in a destructive effort as the hosts struggled to build partnerships.

Seamers Rusty Theron and Andrew Birch, who returned 2/20, and spinner Simon Harmer, who took two stunning catches on the long-off boundary, helped restrict the Dolphins at the back end of the innings.

Vaughn van Jaarsveld, who hit 22, and David Miller, with 14, put up a tame fight with a 20-run stand for the fifth wicket, the strongest form of resistance in the home side's innings.

While the Warriors picked up vital points to keep themselves in the competition, the Dolphins suffered their second defeat as their title hopes took a knock. – Sapa
