Johannesburg – A partnership of 177 for the sixth-wicket between Heino Kuhn and David Wiese was to no avail as the Titans were dismissed for 252 in their Sunfoil Series match against the Warriors at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth on Sunday.
Chasing 414 for victory, the Titans fell short by 161 runs.
The visitors, starting the final day on 40 for three, were soon in trouble losing two wickets for one run.
Pieter Malan tried to drive Gurshwin Rabie, but only found the bottom edge, which carried through to third slip, without adding to his overnight score.
Henry Davids, on eight overnight, added just one run, before a dangerous delivery from Andrew Birch beat the bat and removed the off-stump.
Their dismissal brought Kuhn and Wiese together and they afforded scant respect to the attack that had taken five wickets for 41 runs.
Their partnership, lasting 42.4 overs, was over in a flash, as the pair were dismissed within four balls of each other.
Off-spinner Simon Harmer deceived Kuhn with flight and the ball rapped him on the pads.
In Kuhn's three hour stint at the crease he found the boundary 15 times in a 126-ball 89.
Wiese followed him back to the hut four minutes later, pulling at a ball, which went towards mid-wicket and Birch had little trouble taking the catch.
Wiese's 79 was struck of 133-balls and included 12 boundaries.
CJ de Villiers failed to add to the score edging a Rabie delivery to the keeper Athenkosi Dyili.
Roelof van der Merwe, and Rowan Richards followed soon after.
