East London - The rain-interrupted SuperSport Series cricket match between the Warriors and the Knights fizzled to a tame draw on the fourth and final day in East London on Sunday.

Throughout a long, hot day, the Warriors scored 306 runs, losing only two wickets in the process, and ended the day at 499 for five with a 69-run first innings lead.

Four batsmen made centuries and only 13 wickets fell in a shortened match after the first one-and-a-half days were washed out by rain.

The only wickets to fall Sunday were those of the overnight batsmen, Arno Jacobs and Craig Thyssen, who resumed in the morning on 21 and 16 respectively with the team total at 193 for three

Both were unbeaten at the lunch interval, when each had scored 76, and they went on to add 185 for the fourth wicket.

Obus Pienaar struck when he trapped Thyssen leg before for 96

off 169 balls.

Jacobs secured his 15th first-class century and was eventually caught and bowled by spinner Wiann Van Zyl for 110. He faced 216

deliveries and smashed 16 boundaries.

Kelly Smuts, playing his first four-day match for the Warriors, made his third first-class ton with an unbeaen 100.

After Smuts reached the landmark the game was called off with 15.4 overs left to play.

Knights captain Morne van Wyk was named Man of the Match after making an unbeaten 150 in his team's only innings. - Sapa
