The Warriors registered a third successive T20 Challenge win after comprehensively beating Impi by 48 runs at Buffalo Park on Sunday.
Batting first, the home team rattled up 168/4 wickets in their allotted overs before dismissing Impi for 120 with eight innings balls remaining.
For the Impi, Ryan Ten Doeschate, the Netherlands international, looked a class above the other batsmen with an outstanding 56 that contained five sixes.
He was the last man out, hitting out as his side's last resort to any chances of victory.
Earlier, the Warriors had kept the scoreboard ticking with their top order getting the runs.
South African international, Colin Ingram, looked impressive with 51 before being run out at the non-striker's end.
Kelly Smuts straight drove Ben Edmondson, who got a faint touch on the ball hit back, with Ingram out of his crease.
Ingram had faced only 30 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes.
Laying the foundation for the Eastern Cape franchise were the opening pair of Ashwell Prince (28) and Jon Jon Smuts, who put on 49 for the opening partnership.
It was the ideal platform for the middle order hitting of Ingram and Craig Thyssen.
Thyssen smashed 26 off 12 balls, adding 55 runs off four overs with Ingram.
In reply, the Impi were never in the hunt of the target as Warriors' experienced former Proteas bowlers, Makhaya Ntini and Nicky Boje, restricted them.
The veteran duo struck early with Ten Doeschate the only player standing firm for the visitors.
Andrew Birch also returned excellent figures of 3/18 in his four overs to take the Bowler of the Match award, while Ingram won the Batting Award.
The Warriors took four valuable points from the match and now face the Knights in Port Elizabeth on Friday night in a vital match. – Sapa
