The weather struck again as the Knights' first innings progression was stunted on day two of their SuperSport Series match against the Dolphins in Pietermaritzburg on Friday.

All-rounder Obus Pienaar, 21, made his second first-class century, guiding the visitors to 428/6 before stumps were drawn in the second session.

Ryan Bailey, on 46, and Pienaar, on 31, had resumed the innings in the morning at 237/3.

Bailey stuck around for 13 overs, reaching 80 before he was caught behind off part-time bowler Vaughn van Jaarsveld who broke a 132-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Adrian McLaren made 23 but was also caught behind by wicketkeeper Daryn Smit off the bowling of spinner Keshav Maharaj.

Pienaar held the innings together but was eventually removed shortly before the premature close of play by spin bowler Abdul Razak. He made 119 off 166 balls including 13 fours and three sixes. – Sapa
