He initially felt that he should not get involved in the “Rhulani Mokwena” debate, but Keagan Dolly made it clear – Pitso Mosimane is the big boss at Mamelodi Sundowns.

The old ‘hot potato’ of whether Mokwena was calling the shots at Masandawana and now at Orlando Pirates was sparked by video footage appearing to show him overruling head coach Milutin Sredojevic during the Buccaneers’ 2-1 win over Polokwane City on Tuesday.

As Micho was barking out instructions, Mokwena bats him away and says “No No No” a few times.

Former Sundowns star Bongani Zungu weighed in the matter, stating that Mokwena was the reason why Pirates are on top of the league.

“Coach Rulani has made Pirates a top team again! coach Rulani u the boss!” Zungu tweeted, adding: “Trust me it’s him (Mokwena). Even at Sundowns – ask Keagan Dolly he’ll tell you.”

After debate was sparked over this Micho vs Rhulani incident yesterday. The question is:

Do you care who coaches your team between the assistant and head coach or do you care more about the results on the field of play?

French-based Zungu later apologised for his comments, and now Dolly, who plays for Montpellier in the French Ligue 1, took to Twitter on Friday night to make his views known.

“For the past few days I’ve been “knowing a lot” haha I’ve tried my best not to get involved in this debate but I feel like I should tell my side,” he started.

“My time @Masandawana was one of the best experiences in my career thus far, for me personally I feel like it was a team effort whereby we all had a common goal and our leader was coach Pitso! Although we had coach Mqithi and coach Rhulani having there input.

“But at the end of the day coach Pitso was the man in charge, I have great respect for all the coaches that I’ve worked with at sundowns. Everyone had an input but at the end of the day coach Pitso was the one who brought me back.

“@Masandawana will always have a place in my heart and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities they’ve given me!”
